I watch as the bottle green waves crash against the browning sand, pebbles tumble down into the waves. Washed away to some where far. The water envelopes my bare feet, small pieces of crumbled seaweed brush against them. Waves pull back the water invading the sand, as it sweeps backwards the sun glistens down catching every angle. Creating soft glimmering ripples in the endless depth of blue. I see small ruffles of flocculent white floating across the fading blue sky. I feel the soft sand sticking to my feet, it squeezes between my toes scratching my supple skin. It crunches under me as I move slowly in the wind. The wind strokes my skin, it's wintry air inviting. A biting breeze blankets me in a jolting but refreshing way. As I stand rocking side to side I hear the piercing squawk of a seagull soaring in circles around my head. It's noise simmers down gradually leaving behind silence. The movement of the ocean begins to feel the empty space like lungs filling with air. Crashes immerse my ears but soon this sound is mixed with that of chattering children. Rushing around the beach hollering happily, they were exploding fireworks... Colourful and full of energy. I start to taste salt in my mouth as the direction of the wind changes. The tanginess filling my mouth like I had been drinking the whole ocean. The salt combines with the taste of tiny grains of sand, splinter sharply in my mouth making me squirm uneasily. My face squashing up unpleasantly at the taste and sensation. The foul taste is overpowered by a flowing sweetness trickling onto my tongue, a pink sugary substance floats through the air incasing my senses like a siren to a sailor. Hot pink flashes through my eyes and leaves me drooling... It's softness so tempting. I begin to not only taste but smell the salt traveling through the air like smoke from a fire. The smell of sizzling meat corrupts my nose, it leaves me begging for something toothsome. The saltiness is balanced my the smell of sugary goodness traveling down the beach. Not only do I smell food and sea but I start to smell the chemicals of oily sunscreen slathered on children, I smell pages of new books freshly printed and being read for the first time. I start to feel like the rest of the world means nothing. My future brings me no joy or stress, planning and worrying blows away in the wind. It separates itself from me. The beach makes me feel as if all that matters is that very moment standing there in the elements. Feeling all that is to be felt. I become someone new at the beach. I feel free at the beach ... I feel like a child once again as the bottle green waves crash against the browning sand.

Sounds Live Feels Live
On the 8th of April 2016, 5 girls and 1 dad embarked on a long, tiring and squashed journey to the O2 arena. To see the one and only 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER!
Yes that's right ladies and gentlemen I saw 5SOS live! Exciting right? Well I certainly thought it was and the rest of my boyband mad friends/family thought so too. Let's get a full run down of the concert and everything that lead up to it.
Okay so the day started of very sleepy... Literally I had like 2 hours of sleep! I don't know how I survived the day if I'm being honest. I woke up and could barely open my eyes(not surprising when you only get 2 hours of sleep) and slowly crawled out of bed. I had a shower and threw on some super comfy clothes because I needed to stay comfortable if I wasn't going back to bed anytime soon. The next part of my day was heading over to my nans house and saying a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to my cousin Kira. She turned 16 on the day of the concert so it was sort of an extra special present for her that day, but really the tickets had been an early birthday present for my sister Daisy who is born in April too. After ripping open countless presents with Kira I sort of just chilled out with my family. We played mincraft(What? My cousins are literally all the same age) and talked about the set list for the concert.
The next part of the day was sort of stressful, I had to pick an outfit ... Well buy one. Yes me being very unorganised had left my outfit to the last minute so we spent two hours rushing around new look and outfit searching for a glam outfit that fit my needs for that night. Of course i decided my outfit inspiration was Sandy from grease. Simply because I had watched grease live the night before and fallen in love with her character all over again. So after searching for the perfect leather jacket for about an hour everything was finally bought and we headed home to get ready. Once home my best friend Amber arrived almost immediately. So she had to sit there for the next hour and a half watching everyone rush to get ready. Unexpectedly mine and my sisters friend Leah had also decided to dress like Sandy from grease as well. We sort of had a "who wore it better contest." She thought she was a better Sandy but I still think it was me!
Finally we were all ready. Makeup on, hair curled and jewellery clasped. I think we all looked rather fabulous and somewhat overdressed for a rock/pop concert.
(From left to right: Me,Daisy,Kira and Leah. Amber was being a bit photo shy that day!)
After a long day it was actually time to leave, we all jumped in a cab... Well sort of squeezed in. It was sort of squashy. You should of seen the look on the drivers face when 5 overdressed girls got in followed by my dad. Who is very bald and very large. It was quite funny. Once we arrived we went into full squealing mode. Rushing to find our entrance and buy drinks to sit down with. Finally once we were all seated ... It began.
It was one of the best concerts I had been to. The atmosphere was ecstatic and the whole arena was full of loud screams and guitar notes. The set list was fantastic and I really enjoyed screaming out the words to every song. It was one of the best nights in a while and I think everyone enjoyed it. Even my dad! So after another squashed ride home and a stop at McDonald's everyone headed home to bed. I spent almost the whole weekend asleep. I was so exhausted from all the fun!
Overall the night was crazy and I loved every second of it. I really hope I can go to something similar again but perhaps I should wear more comfortable shoes because my feet were killing me on the way home. Too much dancing I think!

Disease
Black. White. Gay. Straight.
Our minds infected by words
A disease created by mankind itself
A disease that causes death
What is this disease?
It's pain is incomparable to that of:
Trench foot, cancer or even AIDS
This disease spares no victims,
It infects the young, old, rich and poor...
What is this disease?
This diseases symptoms are apparent all through history
It started with Hitler, Stalin and Trump
Then spawned WW2, segregation and terrorism
It's the biggest problem effecting the world today
What is this disease?
A cure exists in plain sight
But words block even the greatest minds
Small trials have lead to equal rights, gay marriage and the end of slavery
Still society can't find a permanent cure
What is this disease?
Some people believe this disease is fictional
Made up by optimist's and dreamers
But you must protect yourself and quarantine the infected quickly
This disease is killing us all and spreading rapidly
This disease is known as ...

The half witch called Violet Rose
Violet Rose stood outside the huge, menacing, iron gates enclosing the hidden school. Known to all magical creatures as Bertram's Institute for Magical Beings. Violet had not known that she was a witch for very long and it had felt like everything had happened so fast, one second her mother was telling her about her past and the powers she possessed the next she was preparing to travel to a new school for people like her! Despite all of this new information being thrown at her out of nowhere, Violet couldn't help but enjoy discovering she was different. She felt quite a bit embarrassed and bigoted to admit this but she liked being different.
To Violet being different felt like a new spark of curiosity had been lit inside of her, she was bursting to let it roar inside and out with the energy of a rocket launching. The urge to learn/know everything in an instant about what she was and where she came from was intensely strong. Violet just wanted to scream from the rooftops what she was, to let the world know she existed. She kept quiet though, acting with a sense of nonchalance surrounding her to stop unwanted attention gravitating her way. After all she was new to this undiscovered world and was unsure as to how it worked? What was cool? How she should act?
With a deep sigh Violet turned around to her mother, her long copper hair swishing swiftly behind her.
"I don't think I'm ready mum, I think we should go home" she murmured quietly. Nestling her head snuggly into her mothers side.
"Violet, you have to go. This is so important honey, Bertram's is the best school for magical creatures ever. You need the education. You need to learn about who you are and where you came from." Encouraged Violets Mum
"Mum I can't do it, they are going to think Im stupid because I know nothing about all these weird creatures. I don't know anything about any of this" moaned Violet
"Sweetie it's too late I don-"
"Don't worry El I've got this" murmured Ben brushing up softly behind Eleanor whilst interrupting the beginning of what was supposed to be an inspiring mum lecture.
Crouching down slightly to Violets height Ben began to speak.
"Vi, this is an amazing opportunity for you, your going to learn so much about us. About who and what you are. I don't want you to worry about how much you know or don't know. That's not important. What's important is you learning and gaining knowledge. This is scary, I can't imagine what you feel like because I always knew what I was and how to deal with it. Your going to do fantastic Vi. I just know it, so come on now the gates are opening"
Slowly twirling around Violet was still quivering nervously with the idea of this new school. Her dads speech had been somewhat motivating, but like he said he didn't know what it felt like to be new and less aware. Violet's eyes gazed up at the towering gates that preceded to open with no force pushing them. A subtle creak of metal could be heard, a sign the gates were old and rusty. They had probably been in use for years. How old even was this school ? Thought Violet as she waddled her way through the gate, each step increasing the amount of anxiety she felt. Her eyes wandered around the huge patch of dry, hard mud she had stepped onto. Her eyes gauged out as she stared at all the strange but amazing creatures standing around her. She looked as if she had just been told the most shocking news of her life. Her mouth hung open mid-air, she was truly flabbergasted. Violet had expected the unusual, but this was more than unusual. These beings were weird yet somehow wonderful too.
Abruptly a shadow cast across the whole family as a huge troll stomped heavily past them, her feet almost causing earthquakes and hurricanes. Further across the field Violet could see a few boys holding out wooden sticks shooting wisps of light at each other. Sorcerers? Wizards? Maybe warlocks? She wasn't exactly sure what they were. Her eyes continued to rush wildly around the area before they fell upon a rather intriguing yet sinister looking character heading her way. His steps where large, he seemed to be getting closer with every leap he took. However his head was covered by a large hooded cloak. As he approached her at a fast pace she felt herself shrink back into her mother like a frightened animal to a cave. When he was finally within speaking distance he pulled back his cloak revealing a pale face, decorated with a healing pink gash from the outer corner of his deep blue eye to his top lip. After his startiling reveal he elongated his skinny arm and to Violets shock his long spindly fingers shook her fathers hand.
"Benjamin! Eleanor! My dearest companions, how have you been? Its been 11 years since the last time I saw you. I remember the last day exactly" his speech seemed threatening and sent a shiver up Violets spine as his eyes glistened over her. His rough scratchy voice spoke again as he asked.
"Who is this ?"
"Edgar, how very nice to see you again" said my dad, his voice somewhat lacking emotion.
"This is our daughter,Violet" he replied
"A daughter... I see. Well Violet I'm sure you will have a fantastic time at Bertram's. Of course it may be a little harder for you to settle in with you being outwardly different from the rest of the children here, but I'm sure you'll do fine." The words slithered out of his mouth which was painted with a devilish smirk.
"So Eleanor how has life been since you and Ben left all those years ago?" Questioned Edgar in a angry voice.
"It's been good Edgar, no different to life before except for the birth of our beautiful Violet" Eleanor defiantly answered back refusing to give back the same angry tone. Instead she smiled down lovingly at Violet. Who seemed dazed. She wasn't really listening to the convocation anymore. She was just staring at the ground with a puzzled look upon her face.
"Well that's nice but it seems I must go, my son Angelo is waiting for me. Nice seeing you both again. Violet what a pleasure to meet you! I hope we can discuss more of our pasts at a later date. Perhaps dinner? Bye for now" with that last line he slithered away obviously not satisfied with the lack of response in the convocation.
"Dad what does he mean by different?" questioned Violet in a confused tone.
To her she seemed the most normal out of anyone here. A witch seemed more normal compared to trolls, pixies and senators. Violet knew she was ignorant and naive. However she wasn't stupid and knew she wasn't as unusual as most of the creatures. Bending her knees and grabbing Violets shoulders slightly, Eleanor looked deep into Violets eyes and began to speak "Violet my dear, you see your a bit special compared to others here. Whilst they are full light blood creatures, you are not a full light blood. You have light blood within you but Violet dark blood runs within your veins too. Your what people of this world like to call a half witch."
"If I'm not a full witch...Then what am I?" Violets tone was curious yet cautious. She was unsure as to whether she wanted to know why dark blood flowed through her veins.
"Violet, you have to understand that most creatures here won't be accepting as to what you are. Firstly this creature comes from dark blood and the crossing of magical beings is frowned upon here." Ben spoke quietly trying to warn Violet of what was to come in the future.
"Dad, I'm old enough to know what I am! I really don't care what people think" reassured Violet.
"Your a siren Violet" admitted her Mum. Violet watched her fathers face grimace as her mother uttered the final blow that would forever change her life.
